More than 30 years after a 10-year-old boy disappeared while riding his bike in Brentwood, Maryland, authorities say they have new answers.
George “Junior” Burdynski went missing on May 24, 1993. He was never found.
The FBI and Prince George’s County police will announce Thursday that they arrested a man in Burdynski’s murder: 61-year-old Joseph Lynch, law enforcement sources tell News4.
Lynch has been in jail since May on charges of sex abuse of a minor, Maryland court records show.
Burdynski would be 44 today. He was last seen riding a small red bike, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children says.
Burdynski’s tragic disappearance has been one of the highest-profile missing child cases in the D.C. area in decades.
“The hurt, the wonder, it’s still there. Where’s Junior?” his father told News4’s Pat Collins 15 years after the little boy never returned home.
