ARTECHOUSE, one of Washington, D.C.’s most unique art spaces, is back on Friday, debuting a new exhibition after more than a year away.
SUBMERGE Project is ARTECHOUSE’s largest group show to date, featuring over 17 different installations, both interactive and immersive.
When visitors enter the space, they’re greeted with a 45-minute show projected onto ARTECHOUSE DC’s floor-to-ceiling canvas, bringing to life a 280-degree, vivid digital world. In one scene, an astronaut DJs from space. Another takes you adrift in the ocean.
Side exhibits include the most interactive installations, letting you talk to a penguin and dance with flamingos.
Each animation takes visitors to a different world, Josh Feldman, the senior marketing & revenue director at ARTECHOUSE, said.
“We’re dedicated to exploring the future of creativity, celebrating and platforming artists that utilize technology as a medium to create,” Feldman said.
While some of the artists behind this exhibition have worked with famous EDM producers including Zedd and Odesza, others are just getting into the field and are experimenting with this medium.
ARTECHOUSE welcomes people of all ages from Thursdays to Sundays. Adult tickets start at $26, with discounts available for youth, seniors, students, locals, military members and first responders.
