A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver Friday evening in Fairfax County, Virginia.
A woman using a wheelchair was hit at the intersection of Route 50 and Plaza Lane in the Fair Oaks area, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver stayed at the scene, investigators said.
The county’s Crash Reconstruction Unit went to the scene to investigate.
The crash caused major backups.
