Saturday will be the pick of the weekend with plenty of sunshine, seasonable temperatures and dry conditions across the D.C. metro region.
Early in the morning, a dense fog advisory was issued for areas west of the Shenandoah Valley, but it dissipated as the sun appeared.
It will remain a bit humid, but not terrible for our area in mid-August.
On Sunday, expect some showers and thunderstorms, especially during mid-morning through the afternoon hours. Some storms could become strong and severe with damaging winds and heavy rain being the biggest concerns.
