A 15-year-old girl was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man who was pushed from a moving Chicago Transit Authority Red Line train Monday.
Police originally thought the man had jumped off a moving Red Line train, but it was later determined that he was pushed off the train.
The man struck the electrified third rail and became incapacitated and was later hit by a moving train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After a subsequent investigation, it was determined the man was actually pushed from the train by three unknown individuals during an altercation onboard. A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody and charged with the following: first-degree murder, mob action, two counts of murder – other forcible felony and aggravated battery of a transit employee.
No additional arrests had been made as of Saturday morning.
The teenager was apprehended on Friday. Additional details weren’t immediately available.
