Virginia shoppers can save some extra cash this back-to-school season during the annual tax-free weekend on Aug. 7-9.

For the three-day tax holiday, Virginia shoppers can buy school supplies, clothing, shoes, hurricane preparedness items and Energy Star and WaterSense-brand items with no added Virginia sales tax.

Shoppers can save 5.3-7% on their purchases, both in-store and online.

According to the Virginia Department of Taxation, the following items are eligible:
