If you thought Thursday afternoon was nice, you’ll like Friday just as much.
High pressure centered over New England will keep an east wind in place over our area for Friday and Saturday. This guarantees lower-than-average temperatures and humidity levels. Afternoon highs will only reach the low-80s, which is nearly 10° below average.
The one small complication is that this easterly wind will push moisture up into the front range of the Blue Ridge. This rising air will lead to increasing clouds to the west and southwest of the D.C. metro. Widespread rain is unlikely, but there could be a few sprinkles or a patch of drizzle and fog as you get west of Fredericksburg and towards the I-81 corridor south of Winchester.
Sunday will come with more sunshine than Saturday and temperatures will return to the mid- to upper 80s.
Sunday will also be just a bit more humid, so there’s an outside chance of a thundershower by early evening.
Highs will be back around 90° for all of next week with more typically humid conditions. Afternoon thunderstorm chance go from 30% on Monday to 60% on Tuesday and back to 30% on Wednesday.
