The story of the disappearance of Relisha Rudd is reaching a new audience.

The girl who disappeared in Washington D.C. in 2014 at 8 years old is the subject of a social media campaign by the Black and Missing Foundation.

Natalie Wilson and Dericca Wilson, the founders of Black and Missing, told News4 the goal behind their recent push.

“Were showing never seen footage with the hopes of someone coming forward, seeing something, jogging their memory about Relisha Rudd,” Derrica Wilson said.

The campaign centers around a series of short form social media content for TikTok, featuring 2-3 minute clips of the foundation’s 2025 award-winning documentary, “The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined.”

The series kicked off Tuesday, and an episode will be released every day until July 14. The series includes never-before-seen footage related to the disappearance.

“It’s a miniseries to hone in on the fact that she is still missing. We know that someone out there knows something and just trying to reach a different audience to help solve this unsolved case,” said Dericca Wilson.

The Black and Missing Foundation, created in 2008, aims to bring awareness to missing people of color across the country.

“We want them to be household names, too, because when you get the awareness, it puts pressure on law enforcement to add resources to the case, but it also alerts the community that someone is missing, and then it greaters their chance of a recovery,” Natalie Wilson said.

She said they are taking matters Into their own hands to raise awareness and bring Relisha home.

“We cannot wait for the traditional news cycle, and Relisha has been missing for over a decade now, so we’re introducing her to a new audience with the simple goal of finding her and bringing her home,” Natalie Wilson said. “We know that someone knows something about Relisha’s disappearance, and it’s time that we get answers.”
