
Part of I-66 in Fairfax County is shut down for a serious crash involving multiple vehicles, police said.
Virginia State Police confirmed the crash was fatal but did not specify how many people died or if there were other injuries.
The crash happened just after 4 p.m. in the westbound express lanes of I-66 underneath Gallows Road. This is right by the Dunn Loring Metro station.
Police said it’s still very early in the investigation, and investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue confirmed I-66 Westbound is shut down as of 6 p.m.
