
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on a driver involved in a deadly wrong-way crash on I-270 in Bethesda, according to the Department of Homeland Security, who said he is an undocumented immigrant.
ICE asked officials in Maryland not to release the driver, Jose Caballero-Nolasco, from custody.

The Montgomery County state’s attorney said Caballero admitted to drinking when he drove northbound in the southbound lanes on the I-270 Spur and crashed into another car, killing a mother and daughter.
He is facing manslaughter charges.
On Monday, Caballero’s attorney told News4 he was a construction worker from El Salvador who has been in the U.S. for 10 years and is expecting a child with his girlfriend.
